Every Child Deserves Quality Education

Udaan Annual Day- 2018

Project Udaan celebrated its Annual Day with great joy and enthusiasm on 17th February, 2018 at the Amphitheatre of Kamatibaug, creating a memorable and inspiring experience for underprivileged students

The goal of this celebration was to give our students an opportunity to perform on stage and develop self-confidence. Students participated in a variety of performances—skits, monologues, poem recitations, dances, etc. - each filled with creativity and joy.

For many children, this was the first time they stepped on a stage. Their performances & sense of accomplishment filled the heart of audience with overwhelming joy.

Highlight: Miraculous transformation of a student

One of our students was quite good at studies and understanding concepts. However, when asked to speak in public, he would start stammering. We felt that the stammer was due to low self confidence and not a speech issue. So, we selected this student as the lead actor of one of our plays. Our practice sessions lasted for 5-6 weeks. During this phase, this student gradually gained a lot of confidence and to our great surprise he stopped stammering.

We were still a bit unsure of his performance while on stage. But he was so confident that when the collar mikes failed and we had to use standing mikes, that would need all actors to change their places in the play, this little boy performed the best without losing any confidence. We literally had tears of joy when we heard him deliver his dialogues with total clarity.

Inter-School Quiz Competition – 2020

We successfully conducted an Inter-School Quiz Competition for the underprivileged students of our 12 adopted school on 23rd Feb 2020 at SSG Auditorium, Vadodara.

The quiz covered a wide range of topics including Numeracy, Literacy, General Knowledge, Logical Reasoning, and Socio-Emotional Skills.

The event aimed to encourage learning beyond the classroom, build confidence, and provide students with a platform to showcase their abilities. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and competitive spirit made the day truly memorable.

At this event we also received a very encouraging response from the parents of our students.

Highlight: Reading habit in students

As a part of our quiz practice, we encouraged children to read newspapers every day. What began as a simple activity soon turned into something far more meaningful. Through daily reading sessions, our students not only improved their vocabulary and general awareness but also developed a genuine interest in knowing what was happening around them.

The most heart-warming moment was when a few parents shared that they have now started getting daily newspaper at home, since their children have started reading the papers regularly! We were very grateful to know that our efforts to inculcate reading habit amongst students are fruitful.

For us, this feedback was more than just a compliment. It was a reflection of the impact our program on young minds. Encouraging children to read, explore, and become curious learners has always been our aim.

Computer Skills Program- 2021-22

To bridge the digital divide and empower underprivileged students with real-life skills, we launched a Computer Skills Program at our centre in Manjalpur, for students between 12 &14 years from a nearby street school. These sessions were held thrice a week.

This program introduced children to basic computer operations such as typing, creating Folders, editing & saving Word files, using internet & doing basic Google search, preparing basic PowerPoint & Excel files. Through hands-on learning and guided practice, students gradually gained confidence in using computers.

National Pollution Control Day - Awareness Program: 2024

From 2nd Dec to 6th Dec 2024, we engaged with students across different schools to initiate conversations about environmental care and responsibility. From interactive props-based activities to fun-filled colouring sessions, each moment was a step towards educating our students on pollution control. They not only learnt about the importance of protecting our planet but also enhanced their speaking skills, general knowledge and creativity through these engaging initiatives.

Highlight: Awareness turned to action

The impact of this initiative was evident from the fact that many of our students happily shared that they have stopped throwing waste on roads or streets and have got dustbins in their homes too. Such simple changes at grassroot level can lead to major transformations.

Mandala Art Workshop: 2024

We conducted Mandala Art sessions at schools, and the students had a great time. They were highly engaged, focused, and enjoyed expressing their creativity through intricate patterns. The activity not only helped in enhancing their concentration but also provided a relaxing and mindful experience. It was wonderful to see them fully immersed in the process, creating unique and beautiful designs. Introducing Mandala Art in schools not only nurtures creativity but also helps reduce anxiety, stress and improves focus & concentration.

Independence Day Quiz Competition – August 2025

We wanted to celebrate Independence Day in a different and more meaningful way this year. We used this opportunity to give children more information and help them understand the significance of the day. With this aim, we organised a special Independence Day Quiz Competition in many schools in August 2025, testing young minds on India's history, culture, and heroes.

The quiz was designed to build awareness, spark curiosity, and encourage children to learn about our country's freedom struggle in an engaging manner.

The enthusiasm of the students was truly inspiring. They listened attentively, responded confidently, and participated with great excitement.

Highlight: Active participation & enthusiasm of students

The school principals were highly impressed by the way the children answered the questions. What made the event even more special was that, for many students, it was the first time they had received a medal.

Save Tigers - Awareness Program: 2025

As part of this effort, we conducted a Save Tiger Awareness Program on 29th July 2025. We used colourful puppets, art, role play & storytelling, to educate our students about Tiger Conservation and Environment.

Highlight: Enhancement of Public Speaking Skills

Our tiger awareness program was a blend of creativity and learning. Using colourful puppets, art activities, role play, and interactive storytelling, we brought the world of tigers to life. Students created eye-catching posters, stepped into character as little actors, and confidently performed short stories. Through these joyful and engaging activities, they learnt the importance of tiger conservation in a fun and memorable way.

Highlight: Active participation of young boys in the topic of "Respect of Girls in Society'
