2005 – 2013: HR & Content Development

Under our HR Consultancy we implemented soft skills training across various industries. In our Content Development company developed content in various languages (Hindi, English, Gujarati & Marathi)

During this phase we came across many unemployable graduates who lacked soft skills. This inspired us to introduce Campus to Corporate Modules at various universities in Vadodara.

However, we felt the need to catch them young, so in 2013 we started The Edu Club – a centre to help students with their studies and holistic personality development in Vadodara.

2013 onwards: Content Development, The Edu Club & Project Udaan

We decided to continue our Content Development work along with The Edu Club.

Life-changing experience: Disturbingly, at Edu Club, we came across many RTE students who could not read and write even in grade 4/5 and their parents were quite stressed about their 'marks' in school. To help these students, we thought of a different experiment. We decided to change WHAT and HOW we teach them. Instead of teaching their school curriculum, we focused entirely on their foundational learning skills in a play-way method. We designed many games, activities, stories and colorful board games and training tools to teach them how to focus, read, write, listen, understand, speak, strengthen logical reasoning and cognitive skills. In short, we taught them how to 'Learn to Learn'. Soon we observed a promising rise in their enthusiasm & learning curve. Students who could not read, hated writing and detested going to school & EduClub, started learning and writing quite independently in less than a year. This outcome was life- changing for us too! It motivated us to focus keenly on helping students from weaker financial background to develop a strong Learning Foundation at Early Age.

Heartening Transformation: Our students started performing better at school and their parents could not believe how eagerly they wanted to come Edu Club everyday. This amazing transformation in our students encouraged us to help more such students, and we initiated Project Udaan to focus on Foundational Learning Skills (FLS) at early age for underprivileged students. We taught these skills to 7500 students in less than 5 years (2015-20).

2019 onwards: The Edu Club & Simple Deeds Foundation

The learning outcomes and the response of parents and students influenced us to do more work in this field of Foundational Skills & Early Age Education. To garner more support, we decided to start an NGO, and our NGO Simple Deeds Foundation (SDF) was incorporated in Nov 2019, just a little before Covid.

Covid and lockdown did not deter us; we designed and developed a wide range of training material and conducted virtual sessions during this phase.

Story Power: A unique collection of 50+short E-stories with activities; in English, translated and & transliterated in Hindi; with a voiceover in both the languages. Through our network of schools, friends, family and Rotary Clubs, we sent these stories to thousands of students during lockdown.

ChaturBrain Book: Book of Multi-level Brain-teasers: 500+ activities for 10 categories & 3 levels. These books were distributed to thousands of students and even today, many street schools use this every year.

Once the schools reopened and got streamlined we could resume our project in 2023.
